Wherever possible, I release code that will be useful to other researchers as open-source software.
In 2015 I had the opportunity to produce a number of small open-source repositories while serving as a Google Data Journalism Fellow at the Sunlight Foundation.
Here are the publicly available repositories that I maintain or own:
A parser for the Congressional Record.
Zero tracks lobbying records kept by the Senate Office of Public Records.
Creates a datastore for information on 527s, political organizations which disclose donors and expenditures semiannually with the IRS and can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money without filing reports with the Federal Election Commission.
Slack interface for Sunlight Foundation tools.
